Prophakwa-Emmanuel Acquah’s academic journey spans music, education, and graduate study. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Education, Winneba in Ghana in 2021 and a Master of Arts in Education from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 2023. His academic interests include education, learning, music education, and research, with a particular interest in how educational experiences can support learning and development. His research and professional experiences continue to inform the educational and informational content he shares with wider audiences.

This study examined the opinions and experiences of preschool music teachers in Ghana to assess the role and importance of music education in early childhood settings. The research explored the benefits of music education, challenges affecting its implementation, and strategies for strengthening music education in Ghanaian preschools.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

“My research interests center on music education, early childhood education, language development, and the role of educational experiences in supporting children’s learning and development. My current research focuses particularly on early childhood music education in Ghana, with an interest in how Creative Arts curriculum, teacher preparation, and classroom practice influence the integration of music in early childhood settings. I am also interested in the preparation and professional development of educators, equitable access to meaningful educational experiences, and the ways music and education can contribute to children’s cognitive, linguistic, social, and creative development. My broader academic interests bring together music, education, research, and culturally responsive approaches to teaching and learning.”
